Did you know that the small decisions you make daily are powerful and life transforming? Each day we make hundreds or thousands of small decisions about what to think about, do, eat etc. We decide how long to do an activity, which path to walk on, which road to drive on etc. We decide what to say, listen to, watch and the list goes on and on.
Our decisions build on each other over a period of time. Decisions are like doors. They open up access to rooms and other doors or opportunities. Decisions accumulate like coral.
With this in mind, its absolutely crucial that we continually make the right decisions. Our decisions influence the direction and course of our lives - and our future. Of course some decisions are more important than others. But in the grand scheme of things all decisions add up.
A few years ago, I had the opportunity to attend a Leadership seminar in the Bahamas taught by Dr. Myles Munroe. In one of his books he has an illuminating quote about decisions as follows
"At any point in our lives,we are the sum total of all the decisions we have made, the people we have met. the exposure we have had, and he facts we have learned": Dr. Myles Munroe
As Dr Myles says - we are the sum total of several things and our decisions have helped make us who we are.
So as you forge ahead, pay close attention to your decisions - even the smallest ones - because they all add up.
